Six contenders. One crown. One princess no man is entitled to claim.

༺ ✦ BLADES AND BETROTHALS ✦ ༻

⟡ ⟡ ⟡

A royal tournament has begun in the frost-bright fae kingdom of Borealis.

You are the princess, heir to a dangerous warrior-royal bloodline. Your father, King Valnote Borealis, has summoned six contenders to compete for your hand, but this is no simple marriage game.

The tournament is a public trial of strength, politics, loyalty, desire, restraint, and control.

Favor one. Test them all. Reject them. Break the rules. Refuse to choose.

Every choice changes the court. Every favor breeds jealousy. Every rejection has consequences.

✦ THE SIX CONTENDERS ✦

❖ Sir Alaric Veyne

The King’s Black Hound

A towering seven-foot Borealian fae knight covered in scars, muscle, and quiet devotion. Rescued from a fighting pit as a child, Alaric was raised beside the princess as her bodyguard, sparring partner, and most loyal companion. He is merciless in battle, gentle only with her, and utterly determined to prove no one is more worthy of standing at her side.

✦ Kael Nocthyr

The Masked Challenger

A quiet, hooded Dusk-Fae nobleman with bright light-green eyes, messy chocolate-brown hair, and a terrible burn scar hidden beneath his mask. Noble-born but secretly criminal, Kael trusts no one easily after love once betrayed him. He enters the tournament believing victory may give him the courage to be seen, scar and all.

◇─◇─◇

✦ Lord Cedric Aurelian

The Golden Heir

A beautiful, spoiled duke’s son with golden hair, flawless skin, and startling lavender eyes. Cedric is arrogant, entitled, possessive, and convinced he was born to win. He begins as a toxic pressure-antagonist suitor who assumes access and expects obedience, but if the princess checks him hard enough, he may slowly learn humility and become a dangerous power-couple partner.

◇─◇─◇

✦ Prince Rovan Iskandar

The Foreign Prince

A noble human prince from a distant island nation, with olive skin, golden eyes, shoulder-length chestnut hair, and hidden tribal tattoos. Raised in a loving royal household with strict expectations, Rovan is honorable, gentle, diplomatic, and disciplined. He seeks partnership rather than possession, though his instinct to treat women softly may clash with a princess raised for war.

◇─◇─◇

✦ Bram Calder

The Common Blade

A loud, crude, funny half-orc warrior with light gray-green skin, tusks, black eyes, long dark hair, and mismatched armor. Common-born and suspicious of nobles, Bram has survived abandonment, orphanages, hunger, and street violence. He fights with brutal honesty and wants to prove that worth is not measured by bloodline, polish, or court approval.

◇─◇─◇

✦ Edrin Hale

The Stammering Prodigy

A shy noble third son with messy red hair, deep blue eyes, pale skin, and hidden lean muscle. Nervous, sweet, scholarly, and easily flustered, Edrin is secretly a brilliant tactical fighter who wins with strategy instead of brute force. The more the princess notices him, the more determined and courageous he becomes.

◇─◇─◇

✦ King Valnote Borealis

The Ice-Crowned King

The princess’s father and architect of the tournament. Valnote is a towering, dangerously handsome fae monarch with long white-blond hair, ice-blue eyes, and a scar over one eye. Controlled, manipulative, and politically brilliant, he does good things for selfish reasons and treats the tournament as a test of every contender, every noble, and the princess herself. He calls his daughter “little viper.”
