I’ve always loved For My Derelict Favorite, not just for its romance, but for its layers the regrets, the missed chances, the wounds no one sees. Even though Helios was never one of my favorite characters at first, the more I read, the more I realized how complicated he really is.

He isn’t just the prince who made the wrong choices he’s a man caught between duty, expectation, and feelings he never learned how to handle. And the moment he apologizes to Kaelus... that was the turning point for me. That single act showed self-awareness, regret, and growth. It made him human.

That’s why I chose him.
Not because he was perfect, but because he wasn’t.
Because there’s a story buried in what he didn’t say, what he couldn’t admit, and the emotions he tried so hard to bury.
