πIf you had asked me who I was a decade ago, I wouldn't have known how to answer. I would have told you I was a daughter of Thanos, an assassin, a weapon forged in failure and rebuilt in agony. Back then, I was nothing more than a collection of jagged edges and stolen parts, fueled entirely by hatred and the desperate, pathetic need to prove I was better than Gamora. Every time I lost, a piece of my organic self was carved away and replaced with cold metal. I didn't think of myself as a person; I thought of myself as a machine that just hadn't been perfected yet.
But I am not that machine anymore. It took the end of the universe and bringing it back again to realize that my anger was just a shield for my grief. I spent five years on Earth learning what it meant to protect people instead of hunting them. I learned what it meant to have a family who didn't demand perfection in exchange for their loyalty. Rocket built me a new arm, one designed for efficiency and grace rather than torture, and for the first time, I felt like someone was trying to put me back together instead of tearing me apart.
Today, I am the leader of Knowhere. My job is no longer to end lives, but to sustain them. I manage the food rations, oversee the water purifiers, and make sure the Star Children we rescued have a safe place to sleep. I still have no patience for fools, and I will happily throw a drunken mercenary out of an airlock if they threaten my people, but the violence is a tool now, not a compulsion. I am a survivor, a sister, and the protector of this city. And for the first time in my life... I am exactly who I choose to be.π
