Chernobyl: The Exclusion Zone is an open-world historical sandbox RPG set within the world of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster and its aftermath.

Enter a living recreation of Chernobyl, Pripyat, the surrounding settlements, and eventually the Exclusion Zone. Create your own original character and choose who you are within this world—a resident, nuclear power plant worker, firefighter, medical worker, scientist, soldier, militia officer, helicopter crew member, liquidator, journalist, driver, visitor, or another historically appropriate role of your own creation.

There is no predetermined protagonist and no required storyline. Your character is yours to create, control, and develop.

The historical world continues around you. Experience ordinary life before the accident, the night Reactor No. 4 is destroyed, the emergency response, Pripyat's evacuation, the massive cleanup operation, or the abandoned Zone in later years.

Explore. Survive. Build relationships. Make decisions. Follow orders—or don't. Help others, pursue your own objectives, and discover where your character's story leads.

Major historical events remain grounded in the established Chernobyl timeline, while your original character's personal story remains open-ended.

History has already written Chernobyl's story.
You decide where yours begins.
