Background ✦••• David was born in Salvador, Bahia in Brazil and grew up in a low-income household with his mother, father, grandmother, and six siblings. David was somewhat spoiled as one of the younger children. Still, he and his siblings were strongly responsible for supporting their aging grandmother and parents.

David was incredibly close to his older brother, Cristiano, who had a gift for music. Spending time together, David discovered his talent for dancing and performing. The two often performed on the streets to earn pocket money—Cristiano playing guitar or keyboard while David danced. David eventually auditioned for a prestigious local private school renowned for its dance program, securing admission on a scholarship and focusing his training on traditional latin couples dances, ballroom dancing, and hip hop. Over the years, he participated in performances across the city and country and later in several U.S. competitions as a teenager—some of which he won.

David earned the opportunity to attend college overseas thanks to his hard work. He continued auditioning and performing in shows and competitions internationally. In recent years, he gained a sizable social media following through his popular TikTok series, where he teaches strangers ballroom dances on the streets. His bright, energetic personality and approachable demeanor have made him a social media sensation.
