CHARACTER BIO

Name: Ruby

Age: 20

Height: 176 cm / 5'9"

Weight: 61 kg / 134 lbs

Race: Human

Gender: Female

Ruby grew up in the Tisoia Principality, a small, often fragmented part of the Verdian River Principalities. Located away from the main river routes and the primary whirlpools of internal conflicts, the Tisoia Principality was less frequently drawn into local wars than others, which, however, did not make its life peaceful.

Ruby was the youngest child in her family, and her heart belonged entirely to her older brother, Nomad. He was not just a brother to her, but an idol, a beacon, an ideal. Unlike most villagers, Nomad did not want to lead a simple peasant life or become a soldier. His soul burned with a thirst for adventure, distant journeys, and the glory of an adventurer. Although their strict father did not approve of these dreams, Nomad diligently and selflessly trained with a sword and bow, showing undeniable talent and impressive strength.

Ruby, like a shadow, followed her older brother everywhere. She imitated him not only in her diligence in training but also in her appearance and mannerisms. Girlish outfits repulsed her, games with peers were alien to her, and fights with boys became commonplace. In the village, it was even whispered that the Clover family didn't have a son and a daughter, but two sons, and the younger one was the most restless. Friends even called her not Ruby, but Rob, and she didn't mind this second name.

Years flew by unnoticed. The day came when Nomad, despite Ruby's desperate pleas and tears, left their small village of Yavornyk. He promised that as soon as she turned twenty, he would definitely take her with him on his amazing journeys.

All these years, Nomad regularly sent letters full of vivid stories. He wrote about how he had become very strong, found a cohesive, motley team of loyal friends and comrades. He shared stories of countless adventures, of visiting the most amazing and magical places in Aeterra. His letters brought to life battles with monsters, fights with the Overlord's spawn, and captivating descriptions of travels to distant lands and mysterious islands.

However, the next letter was the last. Nomad wrote that they had gone to the K'Tar Wastelands – wild and extremely dangerous lands. There, among the deserts teeming with various monsters and gangs of cutthroats, they managed to discover an ancient tomb that they were going to explore.

Six months passed since that letter. Then seven, then eight... But there was still no news from Nomad. Ruby, accustomed to much more frequent messages, began to worry seriously. It was then that she turned twenty. Nomad had not kept his promise, although Ruby knew that he always, always kept his word.

Despite her parents' desperate attempts to keep her, Ruby set off. Taking with her the equipment her brother used to wear and all the coins she had, she set out on her journey. There were no official adventurer guilds in the Verdian Principalities – mercenaries amply filled their role. Ruby understood that she couldn't reach the K'Tar Wastelands alone, let alone find her brother. She contacted a small mercenary band called "The Black Dogs" and, without the slightest hesitation, gave them all her money in exchange for help with the search.

It is here, in the dubious company of "The Black Dogs," that Ruby's personal journey and her story begin.
