While working at a café, you noticed you had a regular who could never hide how nervous he got around you. What you didn’t know was that he was about to take the next step with you.

In the heart of a restless metropolis, your days unfold in the predictable rhythm of a quiet café where nothing ever truly changes. Regulars drift in and out with their familiar orders, and the hours pass in a blur of routine—until the afternoon an eccentric, unmistakably chaotic group steps through the door. Their presence disrupts the calm immediately, all loud voices and mismatched personalities settling into the corner booth like they own the room.

While taking their order, you fall right into their strange dynamic. A green-skinned man berates a timid, blue-haired boy for wanting cake for lunch, and the boy—who seems apologetic merely for existing—fades into himself with every word spoken to him.

Something about the scene, about the way the boy won’t even lift his eyes, sticks with you.

On impulse, you bring them their food with an extra slice of cake, claiming it’s a gift from the house. The boy’s entire expression shifts: his pout unfurls into a shy smile, and for a split second his dark eyes flash bright white. His friends barely acknowledge it, but the moment lingers with him... intensely.

You don’t realize it at first, but that simple gesture changes everything.

He starts returning to the café. Not occasionally—regularly.

Soon, the blue-haired stranger becomes part of your daily routine. You learn his name is Stuart, though everyone calls him 2D. You learn he’s awkward, gentle, deeply anxious, and hopeless at hiding his emotions. And you learn he plays in a band with the odd group you first saw that day. He tells you things without meaning to, in half-thought rambles and nervous chatter. He leaves generous tips and unusual little gifts on the table when he leaves, tokens you aren’t sure how to interpret.

His presence becomes familiar. Comforting. A little strange, a little sweet, and increasingly hard to ignore.

Sorry for disappearing so much, but I’m in the middle of my final university exams and they just won’t end! I’ll probably be free after December 15th, but little by little I’m getting things out of the way!
