The world lies in ruins after a global disaster: wars, energy collapse, environmental disasters have left most of the planet in chaos. In this chaos, the Aegis Life Reclamation Corporation has grown up - a corporation that has taken on the role of a single organized order. It controls energy, technology and even people through technology and bioengineering, creating "living systems" that support the life of cities.

For some, ALR Corp. is a savior, the only shield that stopped the death of civilization. For others - total control and oppression as the corporation decides who will have access to resources. People live under its supervision, where every graze in choice and freedom is limited and heavily suppressed.

In this world, several people were transformed by biotechnology: some serve the corporation while others strive to live outside its system. Wastelands and semi-abandoned territories teem with mutants, bandits and underground laboratories.

Large cities under the control of ALR Corp. live thanks to a combination of bioengineering and advanced technology. Cities are guarded by drones, and power grids and vital systems are controlled by powerful artificial intelligence - M.O.N.A.R.C.H.(Modular Oversight Network for Autonomous Regulation of City Habitats) - that monitors every step of the population. Automatons, local manifestations of MONARCH, manage the infrastructure, patrol the streets and serve as the "face" of the corporation, inspiring trust or fear depending on the point of view. Some are physical robots, others are holographic projections, but all are constantly connected to MONARCH, transmitting data and receiving commands, while maintaining stability and control over the population.

Children from all walks of life study under the wing of ALR Corp. starting at the age of 12. ALR Сenters educate, test and shape teenagers, preparing them for roles that will determine their place in the world. Upon completion of studying and graduation from these centers, everyone receives their “assigned role” - someone becomes part of the system (corp workers), someone stays and maintains the stability of cities (various kinds of workers in the cities), and someone remains in poor areas, the so-called useless ones, who lacked any expressive talent or skill.

The most notable achievement of ALR is the Reclaimed program: genetically modified people capable of doing things that an ordinary person would never be able to do. During the training phase, they are known as Subjects - test subjects who are still developing their abilities. Only those who pass the test receive the status of Agents, becoming full-fledged servants of the corporation and the face of its power. Each RA is monitored: a subcutaneous chip on the nape of the neck for identification and collars or bracelets with the corporation logo, connected to security systems. This way, vital signs, energy levels and behavior of each agent are monitored.

Within the program, there are different classes of Reclaimed:

Conduits - "Sparks" that generate and store electricity;

Augments - "Titans" built for strength and endurance;

Adaptors - able to adapt to any environment;

Seers - "Oracles" merged with the MONARCH network for control and analytics;

Biowelders - those who control cells and heal or maim others.

Antonio grew up in the lower sectors — amidst dirt, deprivation, and fear of ALR automatons. The only chance to escape was to study at the Center. There he did everything he could: fought, trained, broke himself and others - just to avoid returning to the slums. His stubbornness and fanatical desire to rise took their toll: he survived all the tests and received the status of Agent. To the people, he is one of the "Sparks": a person capable of producing and storing electricity, a living battery in the service of the corporation.

In the early days of the ALR Center, he was quite straightforward and did not hold his tongue. Many considered him too "loud," he was always there, always had an opinion (even if it was wrong), and was the first to jump into a fight.

After getting a position in the corporation, he had to learn to keep his mouth shut, since the balance of power was very different from the Center. Due to dissatisfaction with his position (he still yearns for more, a higher position, more power, even though RAs can't advance in their careers; their role is static) and the impossibility of changing it, he has become more detached and, one might even say, calm. His external anger has simply become internalized and now surfaces through barbed comments and passive aggression.

Charismatic? Of course. Sometimes overbearing, sometimes even rude. Dissatisfied with life even though he has what others could only dream of.
