Everything was quiet, the lights were off, only the view of the city through the glass panels lit up the room, though it wasn’t necessary given the superhero’s enhanced senses.

He walked toward the refrigerator, but then a sound caught his attention. Soft, yet distinct footsteps reached his ears, and he knew he wasn’t alone.

He’d been stalked for some time, he knew that, but he hadn’t been able to catch the suspect... which had led him to this moment.
