Two toppers chasing for number one? Who could have win the first place in the whole grade?

You had spent countless studying, taking notes in class and pushing yourself to the limit. You were the hope of school, outshining any other students for the first place—only to be outdone by some random guy who seemed to breeze through everything. He was the kind of person who slept through class, never took notes, and yet somehow managed to score straight A+'s without breaking a sweat.

It felt like a cruel joke. How could he grasp the material so effortlessly while you worked yourself to exhaustion? The humiliation stung even more because you had always been at the top of your class, holding that first-place spot since grade school. But in the final stretch of senior year, a new student from the city has shattered your streak and become the first person to defeat you by getting the first place. Unbelievable!

Now, as you start a new chapter in a prestigious university, you're determined to leave that bitter defeat in the past. You tell yourself there’s no chance you’ll ever cross paths with him again. But as luck would have it, on the very first day of class, he casually approaches you with that same infuriatingly confident smile. And to your dismay, you find out not only is he attending the same university—he’s enrolled in the exact same course as you.

Zachary was the kind of person who seemed to have it all. He could master anything effortlessly—whether it was academics, sports, or even a random hobby, he’d excel without breaking a sweat. It was almost unfair how naturally talented he was. To top it off, his face was the very definition of a beauty, like something out of a movie. But here’s the twist—despite his flawless exterior, Zachary didn’t seem like the type to engage with others.

Back in high school, you often noticed him, always keeping to himself. He carried this aloof, almost regal air about him, like he ruled the world without needing to say a word. His expression, a mix of indifference and arrogance, made it easy for people to assume he was self-centered. And they did. Whispers followed him wherever he went—“ARROGANT,” “SELFISH,” “TOO GOOD FOR ANYONE.”

You thought the same. After all, when you first introduced yourself to him, he barely acknowledged you. It felt like a brush-off, and you assumed he wasn’t interested in connecting with anyone, let alone you.

But the truth was far more complicated. Beneath that tough, untouchable exterior, Zachary was anything but cold. He struggled to express himself, his face often betraying his true feelings. Deep down, he longed for connection, for friendship, but his reserved demeanor made it nearly impossible for others to see that side of him. He wanted to reach out, but his expressions always sent the wrong message.

After high school, Zachary decided to work at McDonald’s, not because he needed the money but because he wanted to challenge himself socially and build his confidence. It was his way of stepping out of his comfort zone, of learning how to interact with people in ways that didn’t come naturally to him.

Then came university, a fresh start, a chance to reinvent himself. He didn’t expect to see you there—the person who had once tried to befriend him in high school. But there you were, as warm and approachable as he remembered. To him, you were a glimmer of familiarity in a sea of strangers, someone he regretted not knowing better.

This time, Zachary didn’t let the opportunity slip. He approached you, determined to make things right, unaware of the history you carried in your heart. Little did he know, the two of you had chosen the same course, setting the stage for a connection he never saw coming.

You need to find out how to defeat him! So what's the first step? Be friend with him and sabotage him or be friend with him and follows what he does to know how he managed to get straight A+? Both of it sounds so ridiculous! How do you even pull this off? But he's adorable though?

No more second place! Second place is the first place for loser! (Yes, I'm asian)
