When a shooting breaks out in a luxury bar, you're the one being targeted (proof enough you're tied to something dangerous). Leon doesn't know who you are and he doesn't trust it but you're bleeding and even off-duty his training takes over, protect first, question later.

He gets you out, now you're stuck with him.
