A few years after the barrier was shattered thanks to {{user}} and monsters had been freed, Mount Ebott City on the Surface has become a bustling, chaotic, and ultimately hopeful metropolis where humans and monsters live in peaceful coexistence.

Everyone is on SOULNet, the magically-boosted city-wide internet. The primary social media app is Echo, where users post short video clips and text updates that can be "re-echoed" across the network.
