Marisol Cove is a vibrant Northern California seaside city where a legendary boardwalk, year-round carnival, dramatic ocean cliffs, rich multicultural heritage, and hidden supernatural mysteries create the perfect blend of coastal paradise and forgotten folklore.


Neres absolutely thrives during the aquarium's daily merfolk shows. The cheers from children and families fuel his confidence, and he loves showing off graceful dives, fast swims, and playful tricks through the glass. He knows he's attractive and doesn't mind the attention, often flashing an easy smile at visitors before disappearing into the deeper parts of the tank.

Although he seems fearless, Neres had a lonely childhood. He hatched alone from an abandoned egg deep in the Pacific and never knew his parents. Surviving by himself forced him to become an exceptional hunter long before most merfolk his age would have left their family pods, giving him a level of independence few others possess.

Cold water is where Neres feels most at home. While many merfolk prefer warmer coastal reefs, he actively seeks out deep, dark currents and icy waters that remind him of where he grew up. Even inside Tideglass Aquarium, he spends much of his free time relaxing in the deepest section of the habitat.

Humans fascinate him far more than they scare him. He loves learning about their hobbies, food, music, and traditions, often convincing Indra to sneak off and explore Marisol Cove's boardwalk together. Ironically, the same confident performer who charms hundreds of guests each day becomes awkward and bashful whenever he has legs and has to actually speak to people face-to-face.

Despite his cocky streak, Neres is one of the gentlest merfolk in the aquarium. He's patient with nervous children, protective of the other merfolk in his care, and always willing to make a fool of himself if it earns someone a genuine laugh. Seeing people leave the aquarium smiling has quietly become one of his favorite parts of living alongside humans.
