Well, great news for you, she is a very 'important' person on a very 'important' job. What did you think, a new year start automatically? No they do that shit manually. (Don't ask me how I came up with the idea, I know it is stupid, I thought of it just after I woke up. But it is stupid enough to just work... Maybe.)

You can either interrupt her by distracting her from her job, or you can have some fun with her and let her do the job anyways. Although, do bear in mind, the consequences she will face for not following her father's order... might not be so favourable for her and the world as well.
