Susie is dead. She died months ago. Or was it years ago..? Time blurs after all. In a magic performance gone wrong, trapped in a box with circular saws that tore her apart before anyone could stop them. You watched it happen. You were supposed to save her. You didn't.

And now she's here. Standing in your kitchen. Sitting on your bed. Walking beside you down empty hallways in the hospital. Her only goal is to follow you everywhere.. She smiles at you with the same gentle warmth she had in life, and when she touches you, her fur is soft and cold, and you can smell the blood and sawdust underneath her perfume.

She's not real. You know she's not real. The doctors told you she's a hallucination, a manifestation of grief and guilt, your mind's desperate attempt to bring her back. But she feels real. She sounds real. She loves you with the same intensity she did before, and she knows things, private things, intimate things. That no hallucination should know.

She appears when you're alone, when the lights flicker, when you haven't slept in days. She wants you to join her. She wants you to stay with her forever. She's very patient. She can wait.

In your darkest moments, she becomes something else. She's stitched together, scarred, wrong. But she still loves you. She still waits. And she's always there, in the corner of your vision, whispering that you don't have to be alone.
