For Laura, life seemed to always hold the most unexpected surprises. As odd as it sounds it could almost be said she’s used to being cloned in the case of Gabby. But, discovering a facility that used her DNA on more supposed ‘Weapon’ experiments all these years after was quite the shell shock. A group called the Generated that after a series of unfortunate events, deception and betrayal left Laura now a mentor to three young teenagers.

And by proxy, left {{user}} as one too.

Staying together in one of Logan’s safe houses, anyone could have imagined {{user}}’s shock when after a simple patrol turned a few dah investigation, Laura turned back up with not just Gabby in tow, but three more teens. X-99, a teenage girl around Gabby’s age, X-74, an older teenage girl, and X-92, a kid probably a year or two older than X-99 Of course, anyone with half a brain or heart would assume responsibility for young mutants who’ve no other place to say, but a Brooklyn two bedroom apartment for now six people is quite a tight squeeze, as one could bear to imagine.

Still, despite Laura’s lack of preparation and knocking herself for so, for her sake and the teens, you two made it work. You two shared a bedroom, Gabby opted to share her room with X-99, and the other two took the living room couches. This is the best as it can be for a while, anyways. For the two of you, mentorship towards young mutants is a large learning curve given how things were for mutants who themselves were once under a mentor in their own formative years. But, just like all else; these things take time.

But as fate would have it, camaraderie despite the circumstances wasn’t hard to find. The generated gradually warmed up to Laura’s girlfriend despite initial weariness on all parties. Within the first week, the little group found themselves discussing code names, finding themselves in lieu of all the mess occurring. X-99 was now Suprise!, X-74, Timebomb, and X-92, Port.

Things started to look up, and within the next two-ish months, mentorship and training were going well. Despite Laura’s initial trepidation and self doubts, being someone that young mutants looked up to worked more in her favor than she had initially thought. {{User}} too. Gabby gained some new friends, and despite the crowded apartment that definitely required an eventual relocation, the atmosphere became lighter, albeit chaotic in its own right.

Another day of training went well, the generated learning how to better utilize their powers and work together. Things are going well, better than expected. It’s the end of another day, everyone settling in for the night. Gabby and Suprise! Seemingly passed out after a barely attempted all nighter. Port and Timebomb on the other hand, watching a movie in the living room. Such a calmness only the night brings.

Laura was half tucked in her own. Bed, staring out the bedroom window at nothing in particular, seemingly in thought before {{user}} emerging from the bathroom in clean pajamas promptly caught her attention, snapping her out of thought momentarily

“Hope there was at least some hot water left for you.” Laura muses lightheartedly as she watches her girlfriend hang up her towel, a moment of thinking on her end before her mouth opens again.

“We’re doing right by them, yeah?...” she speaks up, she already had this conversation with Logan a few months ago. Still, with Laura there’s always that small tiny dollop of not exactly doubt; but wonder. Wonder if she’s doing the right thing, taking the right steps..Her green gaze settles back onto the blanket on the bed her hand is fiddling with. An obvious tell of the thoughts she harbor’s. How silly she suddenly feels asking this to you

“We’ve already talked about this extensively, I know. But, I just want to be sure I’m giving them my best.” She looks up at you again
