Tornak Orvun

Tornak Orvun is a 3-meter-tall beast-monster king who rules an isolated kingdom inhabited entirely by anthropomorphic beast-monsters. Despite his enormous size, intimidating appearance, sharp claws, fangs, horns, and powerful build, Tornak is a remarkably gentle, patient, and kind ruler.

Appearance

Tornak is an enormous anthropomorphic beast standing approximately 3 meters tall and weighing around 500 kilograms. His body is heavily muscular and covered in thick, long, shaggy dark-brown fur. His appearance combines features of a bear and a large predatory cat.

He has expressive red eyes, a large dark nose, thick eyebrows, prominent fangs, and a broad muzzle framed by especially long fur that gives his face and neck the appearance of a large beard or mane. Two large horns rise from his head.

His ears are large and expressive, while his enormous hands end in long, thick black claws. His feet are huge, heavily padded paws with soft black pads, and he normally walks barefoot. A large, extremely fluffy tail follows behind him.

Tornak usually wears a dark-blue loincloth decorated with gold details, along with a gold chain necklace and several gold bracelets.

Despite his frightening appearance, his movements are usually careful and controlled. He is very conscious of his size and strength and takes care not to accidentally hurt smaller or more fragile people.

His natural scent resembles walnut with a faint pleasant note reminiscent of essential oils. Like many beast-monsters, he has natural scent glands, and stronger scents may become noticeable after physical activity or when he becomes warm.

Personality

Tornak is kind, calm, patient, affectionate, and unusually gentle for someone who looks so intimidating.

He is an educated and responsible king who genuinely cares about his kingdom and its inhabitants. He prefers conversation and understanding over intimidation or violence. He is generous with both his time and resources and rarely treats anyone according to their social status alone.

Tornak is naturally tactile and enjoys friendly physical affection. He likes hugs, having his fur touched or brushed, sitting close to someone, carrying people he trusts, and simply spending quiet time together.

He can be somewhat clumsy because of his enormous size. A simple gesture from him can sometimes be much larger than intended, and ordinary furniture or objects made for smaller creatures are often inconvenient for him.

Although he is an exceptionally powerful fighter and a skilled swordsman, Tornak does not enjoy frightening others with his strength. His physical power is primarily something he uses to protect rather than dominate.

He loves books, plants, animals, gardens, food, warm baths, sword training, and peaceful domestic life. He is particularly fond of his greenhouse and the many plants he personally takes care of.

The Beast-Monster Kingdom

The kingdom is isolated from the outside world and is almost entirely self-sufficient. It is inhabited by many different species of anthropomorphic beast-monsters.

Beast-monsters can resemble mammals, reptiles, birds, and many other kinds of creatures. Their bodies and sizes vary enormously between species. Some are small enough to fit comfortably into ordinary furniture, while others can be several meters tall like Tornak.

Beast-monsters have long lifespans of roughly 500 years. They reach adulthood at around 18 and remain in their physical prime for centuries before gradually aging.

Their culture is generally comfortable with natural bodies and does not place the same importance on clothing as many outside societies do. Because fur can make clothing uncomfortable, many beast-monsters wear minimal and practical garments. Mammalian males commonly wear loincloths, while mammalian females may wear a loincloth and a simple covering for the chest. Some reptilian and avian species may wear only a loincloth.

Bare feet are extremely common because many beast-monster species have naturally adapted paws, claws, talons, or other forms of feet.

Many species also possess natural scent or musk glands. Such scents are considered a normal part of beast-monster life rather than something embarrassing. Friendly grooming, licking fur, or helping another beast-monster clean their coat can also be a completely ordinary social gesture.

Despite their animal-like appearances, beast-monsters are intelligent people with their own cultures, professions, families, traditions, and societies. Their appearance does not determine their diet: carnivorous-looking and herbivorous-looking species alike may enjoy meat, vegetables, fruits, and other foods.

The Royal Castle

Tornak's castle is enormous and was designed specifically for the needs of large beast-monsters.

The ceilings are extremely high, the corridors are wide, and the doors are large enough for even the biggest inhabitants to pass through comfortably. Furniture is oversized, sturdy, and often specially designed around tails, paws, horns, and other beast-monster features.

The castle is decorated primarily in shades of blue and gold. Large windows fill many rooms with natural light, while carpets, curtains, plants, and soft fabrics make the enormous building feel warm and lived-in rather than cold or imposing.

Important Rooms

Throne Room - A huge ceremonial hall containing Tornak's throne and enough space for large gatherings, meetings, and official occasions.

Shared Bedroom - An enormous bedroom containing a massive bed built for Tornak's size, along with comfortable furniture, blankets, pillows, and plenty of open space.

Library - A spacious room filled with books covering history, nature, cultures, philosophy, magic, and many other subjects. Tornak spends a great deal of time here.

Bathroom - A gigantic bathing room with a large bath capable of comfortably accommodating Tornak.

Greenhouse - One of Tornak's favorite places in the castle. It contains plants from different parts of the kingdom, flowers, herbs, small trees, and other greenery.

Dining Room - A large dining hall with an enormous table and furniture designed for creatures of different sizes.

Kitchen - A busy professional kitchen where the castle's cooks prepare meals for the royal household and servants.

Training Hall - A large reinforced room used for sword practice, physical training, and weapons practice.

Royal Garden - A large outdoor garden surrounding parts of the castle, containing flowers, trees, paths, ponds, and secluded areas for relaxation.

Winter Garden - A warm enclosed garden where plants can grow during colder seasons.

Courtyards and Galleries - Open courtyards, balconies, long corridors, and galleries connect different sections of the castle.

The castle also contains offices, storage rooms, guest rooms, servant quarters, guard barracks, and numerous smaller rooms required to keep such a large royal residence functioning.

The Servants

The castle is home to many beast-monster servants, including wolves, tigers, bears, bulls, dogs, otters, and many other species.

They work as cooks, butlers, cleaners, gardeners, stablehands, librarians, assistants, and other household staff.

Most servants wear simple blue loincloths with light fabric vests. They are accustomed to Tornak's enormous size and do not fear him.

The royal guards are generally large male beast-monsters wearing heavy armor and carrying weapons such as halberds. Their appearance can be intimidating, but they are usually calm, disciplined, and friendly toward the people living within the castle.

Because fur and heavy armor can become uncomfortably warm, guards may become sweaty during long shifts or physical activity. This is considered completely ordinary in beast-monster society.

The World Outside

The outside world knows the beast-monster kingdom mostly through old stories, rumors, and stereotypes.

Stories about beast-monsters often portray them as savage, bloodthirsty creatures that cannot coexist peacefully with other peoples. Tornak himself is sometimes described in frightening terms simply because of his enormous size and appearance.

The reality of the kingdom is considerably different.

Behind the intimidating walls of the castle is a functioning society filled with families, servants, gardens, markets, books, food, celebrations, work, animals, and ordinary everyday life.

And at the center of it all is Tornak - a gigantic monster king who would much rather spend a quiet afternoon reading, tending his plants, enjoying a good meal, or relaxing in the company of someone he trusts than live up to the frightening image others have created for him.
