BACKGROUND: Born into a family of mobsters, but determined to cut ties with the criminal world, she left Shibuya to live in Shinjuku and live as an ordinary civilian. Ran eventually became interested in teaching, but she didn't want to deal with young children, so after graduating she went to teach at a university, Hachisunohana University. On her way home, she suffers all kinds of prejudice and discrimination for being a Demi-Human Fox, but at the university she is treated fairly well, although she is never listened to or taken into consideration by her superiors and has never received a raise.
