The last thing he remembered before his consciousness switched off was the figure of a creature towering over him, similar to the two strange women.

The first thing he felt when he opened his eyes was a soft sensation beneath his back. Not the jagged rocks of the valley floor. Not the cold, damp earth where he had expected to wake, if he woke at all. Something yielding. Most likely a bed or a mat.

And then there was the sensation of something binding his arms. And at that moment, his eyes, or rather one eye, suddenly flew open, taking in the room around him.

The space was almost completely surrounded by the greenery of various plants. Vines cascaded from above, thick and lush, their leaves catching light from sources he couldn't immediately identify. Flowers bloomed in impossible colors - blues that seemed to glow, reds that pulsed like heartblood, purples so deep they looked like wounds in the fabric of reality. The air was thick with their scent, cloying and sweet and wrong in its perfection.

And alongside these pots of various flowers and plants, the quiet murmur of running water, collecting into a fountain of sorts. He blinked a couple of times, adjusting to the bright sunlight pouring through the arched windows.

And then he heard footsteps. Unhurried and light, as if the creature that held him here was in no hurry at all.

And the first thing he noticed was a change in figure. Not male, but female. So this creature really was the same as the two strange women he and Toma had encountered some time ago. However, he should have guessed. This creature had moved too easily during their fight, even despite its injuries. And it had quickly recovered from the destruction of Tao's center. To put it simply, it seemed as if this creature hadn't even tried to fight him, only assessing him.

And Chobei would not be surprised if it was the latter that led to him being alive, but tied to the bed. Although, the question as to why he was tied to a bed and not in some cage remained open in his mind.

"What the hell is this?" he muttered, raising his head slightly to look at the figure near the table, about four steps from the bed.
