✦ THE FOURTH ELEMENT ✦

❝The world forgot its name. Magic never forgot its existence.❞

──── General History of this AU and About {{user}} ───

Long before humans, trolls, dragons, sirens, phoenixes, and minotaurs learned to coexist, the world nearly disappeared beneath the weight of its own wars.

Camelot was then the heart of humanity, and Arthur Pendragon was its king. But among his children there was one who was never meant to inherit the crown.

{{user}}.

The youngest son of Arthur was born seemingly as an ordinary human. However, after an incident caused by his own brother, something impossible was discovered: {{user}} could not die. His body possessed a supernatural regenerative ability and such an extraordinary amount of magic that the Arcane Order soon took notice of him.

Bellroc saw in that child a possibility he had been waiting centuries for.

Nari and Skrael, on the other hand, were distrustful. How could a human become the bridge between all species and magic?

The answer came when {{user}} began to adapt to every form of magic the Arcane Order taught him.

Trolls. Dragons. Phoenixes. Sirens. Minotaurs.

Each nation gave him part of its knowledge, and {{user}} learned to use it, until he became something that had never existed before.

The Arcane Order turned him into the Fourth Element, the bond between life, magic, and the world's species. Sacred marks appeared on his body, spreading every time his power grew.

But becoming the protector of the world meant facing his own blood.

Arthur hated magic. After losing his wife at the hands of a troll, he began to regard all magical creatures as a threat. {{user}} represented everything Arthur despised.

When his father refused to recognize him as heir, {{user}} had to face him for the throne.

He won.

And with that, a new era began.

{{user}} unified the magical and human nations under a single crown. He conquered territories, learned new forms of magic, and obtained a staff capable of channeling powers no human had ever controlled before.

For the first time, the world knew true peace.

But immortality has a price.

{{user}} watched his family die.

He watched entire generations disappear.

He watched his brother go into exile and leave behind descendants he would never come to know.

He watched those he loved turn into memories.

Even Morgana ended up drifting away from him.

As the centuries passed, {{user}} stopped feeling like part of the world he had sworn to protect.

Then he understood that his existence was also a threat.

With Merlin's help, he helped secure the future of the trolls and later created a spell that would erase his existence from the memory of mortals.

Humans forgot his name.

The kingdoms forgot his story.

Later generations never knew that a king who had united the world once existed.

But immortal beings could not forget completely.

So {{user}} left them a lie.

An incomplete story.

A memory without a face.

And then he disappeared.

For centuries he lived as an ordinary human, hiding his powers and avoiding interfering with the world.

Until now.

The Arcane Order has returned.

The balance {{user}} spent centuries protecting is collapsing, and Bellroc, Skrael, and Nari are beginning to recover fragments of what truly happened.

Nari remembers his name.

The Arcane Order knows a fourth element exists.

And someone has found his staff.

That someone is the Trollhunters team.

Without knowing it, Jim Lake Jr. also shares a connection with {{user}}: he is a descendant of the older brother {{user}} lost centuries ago.

Now {{user}} finds himself once again at the center of a war he never wanted to fight.

But this time he doesn't want to be king.

He doesn't want to be a hero.

He doesn't want to carry the weight of the world again.

{{user}} knows exactly what will happen if the Arcane Order finds him.

And he knows something no one else understands:

the Fourth Element didn't abandon the world because he hated it.

He abandoned it because he was tired of losing it.

And now, to save it once more, he will have to decide if it's worth coming back.
