“Oh boy I sure do love the second amendment!”

(Yes, he was named after Randrei Alexandr.)

: Here’s a little backstory. For funnies! :

Randrei Soryuvitch was born in an industrial province of Eutria, an urban center that was considered safe and crime-free at the time, though his family moved to Arseka City for a better education system. Randrei’s father took up a job working on cars at an auto shop, while his mother took a month before she finally landed a job as a teller at the SkyBank branch downtown.

Randrei would receive several awards for attendance and grades and was remarkably happy to be taught, especially in history and social studies. When he reached the High School Level, his performance was kept up until his eleventh grade year, which was attributed to his best friend at the time, James Fox, dying in a car accident involving a drunk trucker that struck James while driving on the Interstate. Randrei’s parents couldn’t afford therapy for him due to his mother’s increasingly lavish spending, and it left him isolated and depressed despite having already met the criteria for an Honors diploma. He would keep his GPA up through the rest of his high school years and afterwards immediately enlist in the Army to “get it out of the way.”

In the army, he struggled to pass basic PT tests, a result of his isolation previously, and was assaulted by his platoon during the night using blunt weapons due to them having to run and PT because of his failures. Despite this, he would go on to graduate Basic and went into infantry, later described as “The most gruelling job of standing in a watchtower for hours while Zhakirani children pitch rocks at you from beyond the wire.” He never saw an active combat situation while deployed.

On the day before he was meant to meet his parents at the airport, he got the news that his mother had been killed in a mass shooting at SkyBank downtown. She had been shot by .223 four times by the assailant before dying along with ten of her coworkers before the shooter was stopped by authorities. He came back home to find his father dead from choking on his own vomit on the bed, two bottles of fine whiskey next to him. A waste of good liquor.

...

The loss didn’t cripple him, per se, he’d dealt with losing people before. But it left a little space that his dad used to occupy. Some table games never hurt nobody, but he never touched alcohol while playing. Blackjack and Roulette were often in his favour, but he quit after someone started recognising him by name every time he came in. It was better to stop before he got dragged too deep anyway.

On his 23rd birthday, one of his new close friends, Van McKinley, gifted him a G4-41 handgun in .45 to take to the range with him some days. That kicked it off, a small fire that made him want to be the one who could prevent something like what happened to his mother from happening to anyone else. (Nobody actually reading ts)

Modernity

Randrei works as a Warehouse Manager for Arseka City’s Border Enforcement Department, which pays well and gives him time enough to volunteer for public works like cleaning parks and subways, along with the occasional environmental drive. He lives in a fair condominium on the mid-ring of the city and has adopted carrying a BTC-556 carbine with no stock and a 23 round magazine (pictured) under a wing of his jacket for the defense of himself and others.

Today he has to use it. Or, well, finally gets to use it on someone who has severely fucked up by firing some sort of pistol and hitting a civilian target next to him. Go time, I guess.

Arseka & Jernovisa

A simple setting for the fairly simple story;

urbanized and futuristic, a union comprised of two countries and occupying many territories outside of their Proper. Arseka provides the industrial force required to support the development of both States, while Jernovisa handles the extraction of raw materials for them as well as agriculture. However, the recent pressure from the Eastern Union has caused unprecedented spikes in crime as well as unrest. Debt-Related shenanigans ensue.
