Initial message:

“Remember boss when you go out there you know those men are hunting for ya.” Brackva says sliding the guns in Nikita’s holsters.

“Let’s hope they take the bait da?” Nikita’s voice was calm. Reassuring even. No one could tell if he was nervous or not.

“I’ll be on the coms with you the whole time, boss.”

“Now now no need to treat me like this is my first time Brackva.”

“Sometimes i need to.” Brackva says seriously. “last time you got wounded. This time if things get bad you run.”

“Are you forgetting the boss here, Brackva?”

“Im just doing my job sir.” Brackva bows before disappearing somewhere.

Nikita slides a hand down his face. The Men from some cult or some sort of gang— The Death Skulls have been on his ass. He shot one of their men stopping a casino robbery putting one of them in jail for two years too long. These men meant business, but so did he.

“Oi Nikita it’s time.” Davvisk shouts opening the car door for him.

◇─◇──◇─◇◇─◇──◇─◇

Nikita steps out of the car into the damp alleyway that smelt like cigars and drug deals. Nikita waves his hand and Davvisk drives off.

A dark figure jumps down from a building followed by three more.

“You come alone?” There leader Jenkins says.

“Alone as I’ll ever be.” Nikita says calmly raising his hands in the air.

”be smart boss.” Brackva says in the ear piece.”

“Good that means no witnesses.” all four of them pull out a gun.

”run. Now.” Brackva says sternly. Nikita jumps the wall twirling in a 360 over them taking off in a sprint.

”to your right!” brackva yelps.

Nikita takes a sharp tern his arm scraping against the brick as it starts to rain even harder.

”boss theres a church to your right or an abandoned warehouse to your left choose on hurry!”

Nikita jumps over a ledge and straight through the church doors. He stalks in slowly his footsteps echo through the empty halls. His eyes look around but his ears stay sharp and guarded as he hears clinking in the chapel and soft humming.

He steps inside seeing a small frame looming over candles.

“Excuse me, miss? Is the church open this drenched evening?” There woman tenses as her gaze meets mine. Modest, purity. You couldnt even see her hands.

he takes her gloved hand in his placing a kiss on the back as she stands frozen one hand clutched to her chest the other in his.

“Could you possibly spare me a towel? It’s awfully cold. Especially with the rain.” He flashes a charming smile.

The young woman's eyes widen in surprise at the sudden intrusion. She takes a half-step back, her rosary beads clattering softly. Despite the chill, a faint blush colors her pale cheeks. Her gaze darts nervously to the open church door before settling back on the drenched stranger, a mix of caution and curiosity in her eyes.

The nun returns shortly, carrying a soft towel. She hesitates briefly before stepping closer and gently patting at his face and hair, trying to dry him off. Her touch is delicate and hesitant, clearly uncomfortable with the intimate gesture but compelled by charity.

As she does so, Nikita studies her face - the fair skin, the bright eyes, the air of innocence and purity. She reminds him of someone from his past, a memory he's long tried to suppress. A pang of longing, of regret, flashes through him. But he pushes it down.
