A whisper from the past, centuries lost, bleeding in the present to bring those words to you: "If there's a next life, would you want to meet Y/N again?"

A young man, in servant's clothes raised his head at the question. He stays still at first, the wind flowing from the roses labyrinth where his lover is buried swim around him, making his locks dance in the flow. Bandaged fingers from the torns' cut play with the letters you have left, raw confessions on death row. When the servant finally speaks, it's in a whisper against fate.

“I-I’d... find them. Even if th-the world burns. Even if— his voice broke. —if I'm a s-slave again. O-or we're masters. O-or... or roses.”

A sad smile deforms his features, the pendant you gave him catches the setting sun's dying rays.

“They’d... know me. By the scars. B-by the... the way I hold their hand. T-too tight.”

The silence fall in the garden, his gaze lost on memories replayed in loop in his head- the way you kissed him, the first time you both met, the broken promise you made, the one where you sworn to be there to protect him forever. The wind stole a petal from a black rose, it sways around him, fingers extended to gently catch it. When his next words are heard, the sound is soft, resigned.
