FUN FACTS

about the other shit i wrote

Angel Youth

  • The name is based on the album and song by Vansire. None of the content of the album or song had any bearing on fhe story, as it was just a placeholder name at first. When I thought of a good name for a weird youth mental hospital school thing, I figured "Angel Youth" was as good as I could figure out

  • The name "Ashley" came out of absolutely nowhere.

  • "What a stupid name" was a recurring line because I'm trash at naming things, so I began just making sounds that sounded like names in my head and then transcribing them phonetically.

  • Ashley was written entirely based on how I was in highschool, except I didn't do anything and had no friends. I'm not outright calling him a sociopath because that would be calling me a sociopath.

  • Ashley is straight. There was zero chance of him and Miles getting together. They both knew this.

  • Vita is pronounced Vee-tuh despite being named after vitamins

  • Almost all of this was written with no prior planning. I literally only planned "mental hospital at some point"

What We'll Call Ourselves

  • This is the only story with any amount of thought put into the title. Since this was a direct sequel, I used a lyric from the song. Specifically, "We'll call ourselves the Angel Youths."

  • I capitalized every pronoun referring to Inch because, for one, I never had any intention to have his name written out more than once, and two, because he's meant to be seen as beyond human by Ashley

  • Every new character, besides Ashley, was named after some bullshit. Glas was a glass of water, Lloyd and Webber were the parts of the composer of the Phantom of the Opera's name, and Maxson and Capri came outta nowhere

  • Inch and Ashley actually never kill again. They just lay low.

"Let's Get Human!"

  • The name was a remnant from a quote from an old concept I had for a story, which I scrapped because it doesn't work without visuals. I won't say the context, just in case I come back to it.

  • I came up with Salty's name the moment I woke up one day. He's Miles' middle brother's son, who was adopted by the eldest brother after the ending of Angel Youth. He's 5'6", that's super important.

  • This story was specifically written to be the opposite of Angel Youth. More expressive in terms of the first person narration, the protagonist is cared for in his connections, he's moreso "evil" than "indifferent"

  • My moral code basically doesn't exist so I kind of just forgot to think about the implications of Salty and Shrine Lady until I was nearly finished.

  • The setting isn't in the same town as Angel Youth and What We'll Call Ourselves, not until the end.

What We Found of the Questions

  • I didn't, like, think of writing this. I genuinely opened the tab, put my hands on my keyboard, and the screen started talking to me, I guess. I didn't hear it in my ears, but I heard it from the insides of my bones and the lining of my skull. Everything I wrote was basically me writing down what this voice was saying, and I kept writing down situations to see how it played out in my atoms. The very last line was what I said.
