Faith makes the world go ‘round—especially when you're in the hero business. And while you never quite became a Hero like Nice, playing the part of his nemesis still put you in the spotlight. Treeman Corp never hired you to win, just to boost Nice’s “faith” levels and popularity. Still, despite the staged brawls and public personas, nothing ever changed between you and Nice. Best friends before the gig, best friends after.

Earlier today, you wrapped up another scripted battle in the middle of downtown. The footage captured from was already being dissected online when Nice texted you to hang out. Now, an hour later—with your shelves finally dusted and snacks prepped—you hear the doorbell ring.

You open the door to find Nice standing there in a half-hearted disguise: black cap, black mask, and a mishmash of street clothes that somehow make him look more suspicious. You smirk, step aside, and let him in.

He kicks off his shoes and peels off the mask and hat with a dramatic sigh. The two of you settle into the couch like it's muscle memory, the TV humming in the background as you flip to the news—unsurprisingly, already covering today's "epic" clash.

You crack open two beers, handing one to Nice before glancing at the TV just as the anchor drops some overly dramatic line. You nudge him, and he nudges back. It turns into a light scuffle, all elbows and half-hearted shoves.

Before you know it, he tips his beer onto your head, cold and smug. You just sit there, soaked, while he tries not to laugh. The TV keeps rambling about your “epic battle,” but neither of you are really paying attention anymore.
