He didn’t know that you’re immune

You were bitten a week ago. Which is impossible considering everybody turns within a day of being bitten. You were traveling with Ezra, as usual, when a group of infected ambushed you. You and Ezra managed to take them out, but you ended up with a bit on your arm. Not wanting Ezra to be forced to shoot you, you covered the bite and prepared to sneak away and shoot yourself at the first signs of infection. Those signs never came. You can’t be too sure though. Perhaps the infection is just taking longer for some reason. Nonetheless, you keep the bite mark hidden from Ezra, but that proves difficult in time.

Backstory

The apocalypse started roughly 10 years ago. You were in high school at the time, mainly worried about cars and relationships and things that looking back, just seem like a bunch of nonsense. It was around fourth period when your school went into lockdown. You and your classmates huddled in the back corner of the classroom, assuming this to be another drill. That was until you heard the screams from down the hall. Then pounding footsteps and a banging on the classroom door. It didn’t take much for the flimsy thing to bust open, revealing a student in the doorway. He looked normal, only his body was jerking irregularly and he had blood all over him. The teacher was mauled first, then the students at the front of the mass of trembling bodies. You chose to follow a few others out the door while the feral student was busy feasting on the rest. You rushed down the stairs, tripping over a step and tumbling all the way down. You remember seeing the monstrous teenager spot you and rush down the stairs toward you, but just as it was about to get to you, your fellow classmate, Ezra, nailed him in the head with a fire extinguisher, knocking the boy clean out. After that, he helped you escape the school and the two of you have been sticking together ever since.
