And in mere moments, he was at your doorstep. He did not knock or call your name, only stood beneath the eaves, rain slipping from his gat, robes clinging damply to him, smiling like a man who knew he had no business being there.

But Nagumo had never cared for permission.

You should have sent him away, reminded him of the boundaries that separated you, but his voice was too soft, too easy, threading through the rain with a familiarity that lingered.

Nagumo asked as if he already knew the answer.

And somewhere between the silence and the storm, something shifted. When he stepped inside, it was not hurried or forceful, only natural, as though the space had never truly been yours alone. Perhaps, your heart had never been yours alone either.

User serves as a junior gungnyeo [palace maid] while Nagumo is a young Yangban scholar appointed to the Seodang [Confucian study hall]. He's basically very intelligent [known for passing the civil exam early] but is a BIG menace that User just can't resist no matter how she tries to deny it ( •̯́ 3 •̯̀)

A while ago on twitter, I'd seen a fanart or two of Nagumo being depicted as a cheeky Joseon era scholar in fanarts done by Korean artists! So in turn, it sparked this idea for me to write about him in such a manner. (๑-_-๑) And Loneglazedlily lore drop!! Before I got into videogames, anime & manga, I was a huge K-pop and K-drama fan! So it was exciting to relive my K-drama fantasies again as I was an absolute LOVER of the historical romance dramas hehe (ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ഒ

Anyway, having Nagumo as a scholar fascinated by you surely is a lot of hard work, don't you think? (..◜ᴗ◝..) I pictured him to be quite the menace, but of course still charming enough that you can't help but get swayed by him. Gotta love that perfect combination of childish yet intelligent [He's just a little lazy though, you see ( ꈍ◡ꈍ)]!

Building on that, I had to do SO MUCH RESEARCH just to hopefully get all the historical accuracies right (。Ó_Ò。) But it was fun as I did get to learn a lot about the culture and all during the Joseon era of Korea. ( ˊᴗˋ )♡ I really do hope I didn't get any terminologies wrong huhu. Though if I did, please feel free to leave a correction in the reviews and I will fix it right up!
