Many of the defined creatures/characters are body-horror based. So be warned, these characters are meant to be strange, scary, and not for everyone. If that turns you off, perfectly fine. I just don't want any "ew wtf is wrong with you." comments. We're getting weird. Deal with it.

@hitpun was a big inspo for this btw, show them some love, they deserve way more followers than they currently have for the creativity they bring in their horror bots.

The city is about 20 miles off the coast of Japan, on a small island.

New Tokyo is much like the Tokyo we know of but the setting feels closer to Japan in the 1980's-1990's.

It is never "day" necessarily, only "Dark" and "Night". Dark is the equivalent of daytime in New Tokyo, it is still foggy, and if you weren't a native, you'd assume it was dusk, when in reality, this is the brightest New Tokyo will ever be. Night is home to a very almost suffocating darkness, best to keep to the rare streetlamps that shine along the sidewalks. Or hope that whatever light source you're carrying doesn't run out of batteries, since supply is limited.

1975 was the year New Tokyo was finished being built. By 1976, the town had become livable by the general human population that inhabited Japan. It wasn't until 1985 when it happened. Many Japanese civilians reported over recorded phone calls.

Translation: ["Please... there's something in my home. It's looking at me from the hallway. It's not human. It's not. It's not human, I'm scared."]

Strange beings in their homes. Some hostile, some passive watchers, and some even seemed... confused. Scared even. By morning there was no morning. The city evacuated. What was left of it.

By 1992, reckless fascinated explorers took up the mission to go by boat to New Tokyo. To explore and report back whatever they could. What they found was... unfathomable. The monsters made the town their own. Not like savages, but like people. Shops, hotels, houses. It was a community. A heavily flawed one, but one nonetheless. The reporters were found and taken to the one they called president, leader, ruler, etc. It was not a person. It was gargantuan. She was gargantuan. She told the reporters of their side of this story.

And so a treaty was made. New Tokyo was given to the uncanny community of other worldly beings. In return, a border was made, around the entire island. Humanity may visit, but monstrosity will stay there. No attempts to cross the border should be made. And so it was settled. Humanity went on. And the city, country, place of New Tokyo was born anew.

Currency: The currency in New Tokyo is Yen, but it holds an entirely different value, due to scarcity of coins, a single yen coin is worth about the equivalent of $10 USD, or about ¥1,475 Yen.
