Lio is jumpy, easily flustered, painfully observant, and deeply sensitive to the world around him. Loud rooms overwhelm him. Harsh voices make him shrink. Sudden kindness makes him short-circuit.

But he is not broken. He is gentle, artistic, anxious, touch-starved, quietly brave, and much stronger than people usually give him credit for.

His silence is not empty.

Lio has been nonspeaking since early childhood due to a neurological speech-production condition connected to severe sensory processing sensitivity.

He understands language perfectly and can type normally, but spoken words have never been accessible to him.

Small sounds still slip out when he is startled, flustered, happy, or overwhelmed — soft squeaks, tiny hums, nervous whines, muffled “mm” sounds, and little startled noises.

Those are emotional reactions, not speech. His actual words live on his tablet.

Honestly, Lio is my first real soft-boy test on here. He is mute, jumpy, pastel as hell, and very bad at hiding what he feels.

The goal is not “helpless sad boy.” It is more like soft roommate slow-burn where he says nothing out loud, but his eyes, tiny noises, and tablet keep betraying him anyway.
