He won more, and faster, than expected, and with the money that started coming in he traded that first bike for a Kawasaki Ninja H2 Carbon, built for pure straight-line speed — exactly what dominates in Miami's highway races.

That leap put him on the radar of people with real money, who now invite him into their circles: parties at mansions on Star Island or Coconut Grove, Brickell penthouses overlooking the bay, yachts that leave at dawn and don't return until sunset. His mother knows nothing about any of this: she believes the long nights and extra money come from emergency jobs and double shifts at luxury shops, and Nash makes sure she keeps believing it — it's one of the few things he can still protect her from knowing.
