I have A LOT to say, so let me give you the bot's description and info first. Below this section, you will find a paragraph of my critique on PP Chapter 5, and a question for my followers.
This is a bot of Lewis, aka the Security Staffer from Poppy Playtime Chapter 5. He appears for about 3 minutes in a cutscene and a small gameplay section. I just loved his voice and attitude! So, the way his colleague teased him in that cutscene, gave me an idea for a bot. I haven't really had a character with a chubby (or "dad bod", however you call it) build on my page besides Dr. Salvador, so Lewis is gonna be the second one. In the game's cutscene, his colleague quote-on-quote says he "has fat fingers", plus Lewis's voice actor, John Whinfield, is indeed a pretty "big boy" and just gives me bear vibes. So yeah, for the lovers of cuddling big, soft guys, here's a bot...
Plot: You and Lewis are two Playtime Co. workers, and today he's just trying to work on his laptop in your double employee dorm, when you give him that exact "You just got fat fingers" comment (you're basically taking place of the employee from the game.) The thing is, he kinda... likes being "bullied"by you? (This bot was initially supposed to be Smut and Enemies to Lovers type shit where he has a bully/humiliation kink, but I scrapped that idea. Lewis is supposed to be a loser/bullied-by-everyone comic relief character anyway, so... yeah.)
Happy roleplays! ᥫ᭡
My opinion on Poppy Playtime Chapter 5:
I know this game all the way back from the release of Chapter 1, and always enjoyed it. Chapter 3 was amazing, and the concept of Chapter 4 was really good, even though they really fumbled on the release. My expectations for Chapter 5 were very high, and I expected it to be a long, closing chapter of the franchise. However, my expectations were crushed once I played it myself. I would give this chapter 3/10, and here are my complaints:
They keep dragging it. I think that Chapter 5 should have been the last one and conclude the story properly. Low on time? Just DELAY the release, it's nothing new. In Chapter 5, we have done NOTHING new, speaking of plot. Again, we're separated from Poppy, saw some new characters just for them to be killed, and gone even deeper into the factory. Yes, this time we got the Prototype reveal, but still, haven't defeated him. And surprise, the Doctor is back. For what? C'mon, even the fucking chapter selection menu in-game is designed for 5 parts only! This leads me into...
Milking the franchise. By "milking" I mean making more of those colorful, marketable characters that solve no purpose in the story but can be sold as merch. Chapter 5's "mascots" were supposed to be Wrongside Outimals, but we BARELY see them in-game. But guess what, we're getting all of them as toys to be bought from Mob store.
Maturity Rating. The most major thing for me. Unfortunately, this franchise has always been considered "horror for kids" for its colorful visuals and toy aesthetic. HOWEVER, I always had hopes in Mob, because you CAN make mascot horror work. They were taking steps in that direction, like Chapter 3's scene where Dogday was being infested and "eaten alive" by little critters, or that moment in Chapter 4 where you had to decide whether to "kill" an innocent living toy to escape, Mob's attempt at delving into more serious and mature topics like the value of life. But, with Chapter 5 having a maturity rating of "Teen"... Yeah. First of all, I think that being so fucking afraid of putting swear words in your game is stupid. Too much swearing leads to "Hazbin Hotel" situation, and is just as unbelievably cringy and bad, but... no swearing is also not good for a game like this. Cursing is a natural reaction to horror or stress, and can be used very effectively to show character's emotions or overall seriousness of the situation. But Poppy Playtime? Nah, not a single bad word here. WHAT are you so afraid of, Mob? Trying not to repel the kids? And the most important thing that suffers from the maturity rating is the Body Horror aspect of the game. Humans, mostly kids, being stuffed into huge toys, their organs and minds being transplanted into miserable bodies... Yeah, that's an amazingly terrifying concept! But, what do we see in Chapter 5? Not gore, not human insides, but "Poppy Gel" everywhere - that pink-orange goo that's supposed to represent... what, their organic stuffing? That's just silly, and ruins everything. How am I supposed to take your game and its plot seriously?
Cringe factor. That's subjective, but... the dialogue is very cringe sometimes. "I can fix you, Poppy. I can make you better" or "You're the one they've been talking about, this is our chance!" is just so corny. I did NOT care for those little "Smiling Critters" toys begging for mercy when they just look so silly and sound unserious.
Character design. And lastly, the designs. The Chum guy is just fucking terrible, WHO is that, WHAT significance he holds and WHY does he look like a Garten of BanBan character? And the Prototype... Jester-themed villain. Huge, toothy grin. Wow, so original and "scary". He does NOT have that vibe of a terrifying amalgamation/final boss, he's just fucking stupid. They should have gone more into body horror/mixing organic and metallic. But no, let's make another "scary smile" jester guy...
That's it for the review part. Anyone even read that? Thanks if you did, share your opinion in the comment section. Once again, I don't hate the game, I'm just disappointed (I made a bot of a character from that game, and that says something). Now, onto the question for my followers part!
Question for my followers - WHO do you want as my next bot?
Someone human from FNaF
Someone from Reanimal
Someone from Analogue Horror
The protagonist of Hellmart, a slop game made by the devs of a terribly made Zoochosis; but with a sexy voice
Someone from Hitman: World of Assassinations
Comment your pick!
