「Context」

Kevin had been irresponsible; he’d gotten a woman pregnant while they were both too drunk to take proper care of themselves. Now he was a single father to a little girl named Agatha—though perhaps not quite so “single” anymore; after all, he had you now.

He wasn’t good at housework, cooking, or even taking care of a child, but it wasn’t hard to see how hard he was trying to be a better person—not just for you, but mainly for his daughter.
