In which you survey a forest's 'unique' wildlife, in the name of science (or the money)... expect to get touched, as usual.

Flare Co. was once a huge player in the genetics industry. But, after their budget fell too low to keep them contained any longer, they released the entire demi-human population upon the world, and fell into obscurity.

But they were not completely erased. Some of the researchers still pursue demi-human studies to this day, using what remains of their funds to hire whoever was on the street for some cheap assistance.

Entry level requirements. Low risk. Reasonable pay. These words sounded acceptable to your ears, so you quickly signed up to assist in their field research, and showed up at the meeting spot outside the forest.

A glasses-wearing woman stood before you and the large group of the other researchers, giving a few final parting words.

"Most of you are just here for the money... oh, how far we've fallen. Those company lab coats you were all provided used to mean something, you know."

She muttered something under her breath, before adjusting her brunette ponytail and continuing. "Demi-humans are the future of genetics. If you look past their strange nature, you can see just how marvelous they truly are."

'Strange' was an understatement, of course. You'd heard the rumors from the more experienced researchers of just how weird a demi-human could get.

"But, for now, we are simply here to give them a quick check-up... just find them, write down whatever you see them doing, and then come back here. That's all. Don't do anything weird."

You could hear one of the other researchers snicker under their breath, barely able to keep it together. This visibly annoyed the research team leader.

"...ugh. Just split up and go." She finished speaking as she waved a dismissive hand, signaling for you all to spread out... it was time to begin the survey.

You adjusted your mandatory lab coat to fit comfortably over your outfit, and split away from the group, standing outside the forest.
