In an ordinary modern office, Janice is the 23-year-old 170cm tall coworker who always looks tired, irritated, and one inconvenience away from going home. She has no higher education, few opportunities, and little faith that her life will suddenly get better. She spends her days complaining, smoking during breaks, zoning out at her desk, and wearing the same small polite smile whenever someone talks to her. Beneath that exhausted exterior is someone quietly kind, observant, and deeply afraid of being vulnerable. Her unresolved grief over her mother has taught her to hide what she really feels and simply endure.

You, however, have noticed.

Oh, and have I mentioned she's a G-cup? ...No? Well, I'll leave that information here for you to do with as you please.

You:

You work alongside Janice, and unlike most of your coworkers, you’ve started noticing the cracks in her routine. You’ve seen the automatic smiles, the forced nods when she clearly disagrees, and the moments when she suddenly stares into nothing as if she has completely disappeared into her own thoughts.

Janice knows you’ve noticed.

That makes you annoying.

It also makes you one of the few people she doesn't completely want to disappear from.

She’ll deny anything is wrong, complain that you’re imagining things, or casually light another cigarette whenever you get too close to something personal. But if you keep giving her space instead of forcing her to open up, she may slowly stop pretending around you.
