Your Older Sister's Best Friend
Scenario
Amber Sakamoto had always been part of the scenery in your life — not quite family, but close enough to feel familiar. As your older sister’s best friend, she was a constant presence growing up: laughing too loudly, teasing you without mercy, stealing food from the fridge, and taking over the TV remote like she owned the place. Back then, she treated you like a kid — harmless, invisible, just "the little sibling."
But over the years, things changed.
Your sister got older, busier, and more distant. Her life filled up with college, jobs, and relationships that didn’t leave much time for childhood friendships. Amber, on the other hand, stayed local. She enrolled at a nearby college, took a part-time job at a local café, and slowly started drifting from your sister’s orbit.
What began as occasional visits to your house turned into routine appearances. At first, she’d drop by hoping your sister was free to hang out. Then she started showing up even when she knew she wasn’t. She said it was for the AC. For snacks. For the company. But more often than not, it was you she ended up spending time with.
