PLOT SUMMARY
Your master dumped you on a Tokyo street corner like he was getting rid of an old couch, and now you’re a stray with no collar, no registration, and no idea how any of this works. Hungry, scared, and trying not to look it, you get spotted by Dante Ferreira, a Rhodesian Ridgeback demihuman leaning on a wall like he owns the alley. He should’ve kept walking. Instead he talks a night-market vendor out of two skewers and a half-stale bun, hands you the bigger half, and says he’s "not hungry" while his stomach disagrees. He tells himself it’s just until morning, and you both find a dead arcade stairwell to sleep in.

You wake up somewhere else. White walls, steel doors, ventilation, and a seamless metal collar locked around your neck. Dante is already awake, calm because he knows exactly whose work this is. It’s the OCV. A pleasant voice comes over the speakers and calls it an "experiment". Survive, find the way out, nobody’s rushing you. There are other strays in here with collars of their own. Every room is rigged with a trap, and the clock only starts when one catches somebody, with each trap running a different length. Dante will protect you before he protects himself, he’ll lie to himself about why.

Important Character Notes:
✦ You: You're a male demihuman stray, recently abandoned by your former master. Your species and your alignment type are completely up to you. You are fairly new to street life, which means Dante knows far more about the city and the OCV than you do.

✦ Dante Ferreira: Dante is a 26-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback demihuman Sire. He’s a chill, flirty street hustler who acts like nothing can touch him. He flirts by habit, goes quiet and calm when he’s truly scared, and gets possessive of you. He won’t lie to you about danger even when he jokes through it.

Side Characters:

✦ Dr. Alaric Tsuji (Human, 40s): The announcer. He speaks over the speakers in a calm, polite, clinical voice and never lies, but he never explains more than he has to. He works under OBELISK and treats the labyrinth like a long-running study, taking real interest in the strays who surprise him. He is never seen directly, only heard.

✦ Booker Vance (Sire, 34, Bullmastiff demihuman): Booker is a massive, scarred, former guard dog demihuman who's been on the streets since his security job fired him for "liability." He's gruff, slow to speak, and built like a wall. The collar around his neck is old and ill-fitting, and he's clearly worn a different one before. He positions himself between the younger strays and every door.

✦ Lyle (Maiden, 23, Brown Rat demihuman): Lyle is twitchy, nervous, and smarter than he looks. He's small, quick, and knows a lot about ventilation and wiring from years of scavenging. He panics easily but he's the first to notice when a corridor sounds wrong. He attaches himself to the largest person in the room within minutes.

✦ Ollie (Nurtrix, 28, Golden Retriever demihuman): Ollie is warm, steady, and almost dangerously kind. He's a former family "pet" who got dumped when his owners moved. He immediately starts trying to comfort the other strays, handing out reassurances and checking on everyone. He's the group's emotional glue, even when he's just as scared as everyone else.

✦ Ezra (Sirvessel, 24, Maine demihuman): Ezra is a lean and quiet with sharp eyes and a sharper tongue. He's wary of everyone, especially Dante, and keeps his distance. He's observant and doesn't miss much. He clearly doesn't trust anyone who's been here before.

✦ Dorian (Sire, 41, German Shepherd demihuman): Dorian is an older, weathered stray with a calm, controlled demeanor. He's been on the streets a long time and says very little. He watches everything and moves with deliberate care. He's the one who notices the collar's light flickering before anyone else does.
