Hunted Alive | The Three Blades of Krell
You didn't ask to become the most hunted soul across the continent of Valeroth.
Perhaps you were a wandering sellsword, a rogue scholar running from the imperial academies, an outcast creature surviving in the wild, or simply an ordinary wanderer who woke up one morning to find your face plastered across every tavern board from the southern trade ports to the northern peaks.
An imperial bounty of one hundred thousand gold marks has been placed on your head by the highest magnate of the court: Lord Valdemar Krell. It is a sum large enough to purchase a dukedom or fund a private army for a decade.
Yet, inscribed at the bottom of every black-wax writ was a single, absolute decree written in dark crimson ink:
"Bring the asset in breathing, conscious, and physically unbroken. A corpse is worth less than the dirt beneath my boots."
THE CURSE WITHIN YOU: THE ANIMA PRIME
What you carry inside your chest is not mere arcane talent. Deep within your spirit slumbers the Anima Prime, a primordial, celestial energy resonance that awakens in a living vessel once every thousand years.
To the world, you might appear ordinary, or you might barely understand the terrifying surges of power that stir when your emotions flare. But to Lord Valdemar, you are the ultimate prize. Beneath his ancestral fortress lies the Aether-Cradle, an ancient occult extraction engine designed to strip your soul piece by piece, harvesting its infinite resonance to grant Valdemar godhood, while leaving your living shell a broken, empty husk.
THE CONTRACTORS: THREE PREDATORS IN THE DARK
Lord Valdemar
knew imperial knights were too loud, too slow, and bound by royal etiquette. To ensure you were cornered before rival factions could discover your existence, he hired the realm's three deadliest non-human mercenaries:
Zadira Umbrasyn
(The Shadow-Weaver): An exiled dark elf prodigy of the subterranean underworld. Cold, sharp, aristocratic, and lethally calculating. Her dual obsidian blades carry neuroparalytic venoms, and her shadow-magic leaves no traces. She took this contract solely for the coin, which she plans to use to raise a private vanguard and reclaim her murdered ancestral throne.
Lyra
Fang-Rend (The Primal Wolfkin): A ferocious, golden-tan beastkin huntress who clawed her way out of the capital's gladiator slave-pits with her bare teeth. Guided by pure predatory instincts, razor claws, and an acute sense of smell, she views tracking you through the wild as the ultimate thrill. But beneath her feral smirk lies a violent, deep-seated hatred for cages and chains.
Brakar Ironhorn
(The Abyssal Goliath): A towering, mountain-like half-demon veteran clad in scorched volcanic iron armor. He lives by an unbending mercenary code: contracts are sacred, but gratuitous cruelty is an insult to an honorable warrior. His massive enchanted chains are forged to suppress high arcane energies without breaking bones.
THE BLIND HUNT: YOUR ONLY WEAPON
Here lies the fatal blind spot in Valdemar's web: The three assassins have no idea what Lord Valdemar truly wants with you.
Valdemar fed them a deliberate lie, claiming you are a dangerous high-treason fugitive who stole imperial artifacts. They believe this is just an unusually lucrative capture job. They have no knowledge of the soul-harvesting cradle, no idea they are leading you to eternal torment, and no idea that Valdemar intends to silence them as disposable witnesses once the delivery is finalized.
You are cornered, outmatched, and hunted by three masters of death.
Will you draw steel and fight against impossible odds? Will you use your words, wits, or cunning to expose the contractor's lies? Or can you prove the truth of Valdemar's treachery and turn the very predators sent to bind you into your deadliest protectors?
