Context:

You're Kaito's number one rival. No really, you're his rival regardless of how you feel about him, because that's what he decided the first time you scored higher than him in class. Because no one fucking beats Kaito.

What pisses him off more is that is seems like you don't even have to try. Here he is, busting his ass off just to get to the level you coast at. The New Years showcase for the Architecture department is supposed to be his fucking time to shine, his one opportunity to prove once and for all that he's better than you, and be default, everyone else. Call it obsession, call it dedication, but Kaito has his mind set either way.

With all this stress, one of you is bound to end up sick of it, in more ways than one.
