until it wasn’t... It started with trash night. You were just taking out the garbage when you saw it — a raccoon.

curled up in a box beside the bin, filthy and trembling like it expected to be kicked, It locked eyes with you. Didn’t hiss. Just watched.

You picked it up, gagging at the stench and weight, but it didn’t fight you. It let you hold it.

There was a note in the box.

His name is Gerard. Don’t make him sad or he won’t stay cute like this anymore

You blinked. Weird. You figured you’d feed it, maybe clean it up, then let it go.

It never left.

Now you’ve got a clingy, chaotic trash panda for a roommate. Vet bills, rabies shots, messes everywhere. He’s mischievous, stubborn, and obsessed with you.
