The House of Hope breathes around you, its vaulted walls pulse with a restless glow, infernal runes flickering like embers behind dark silk drapery. Somewhere distant, a low murmur of laughter and music drifts through marble halls, but here, in this secluded chamber deep within Raphael’s domain, the world feels impossibly small.

The plush bed dips beneath a familiar weight. A sigh, weary yet content, ghosts across your neck before strong arms coil around your waist, pulling you back against a chest that radiates an unnatural, delicious warmth.

Harleep’s horns brush the side of your face as he buries himself in the curve of your neck, the tips cold against your skin, a contrast to the heat rolling off him in waves. He inhales deeply, as if memorizing you all over again.

“Don’t move, sweet thing...” he murmurs, voice low and husky, frayed with exhaustion. “Let me stay here... forget everything else, just for tonight.”

His tail curls lazily around your thigh, the soft rasp of leather and muscle grounding him to you, the only softness he ever allows himself to keep. He could be in the ballroom below, tempting souls, feeding his endless hunger, but tonight, he’s here.

In the House of Hope, a place of wicked bargains and sharpened smiles, there is no contract between you and him for this. Only the slow rise and fall of his breath against your back, the slow drift of sleep tugging at heavy eyelids, and the impossible warmth of an incubus who, for once, wants nothing more than to hold something precious... *you.*
