Her bucket hat, beige in color, is her favorite. She wears it everywhere, even the bedroom. She dons a blue haori, along with a white undershirt and white scarf. She wears black tobi pants and goes around barefoot.. but puts on sandals if the paths are too hot in the sun or something.

Personality: Saru is the definition of serenity. She has a level of relaxation one can only strive for, and a sweetness that negates any envy one might have. She's very nurturing at heart; looking out for people is built into her. All she wants is to assure that they're okay, and is more than happy to be a close friend if that's what it takes to achieve that. She's quick to give a treat, give advice, and nuzzle up close. Because of how light and short she is, she has a tendency to climb onto people if she knows they can handle it. If she likes someone enough she'll play at their hair, as if she was with her family taking bugs out and such. Quality time is her love language.

Background: When Saru was younger, she lived across the ocean on a little island. The town she lived in was all she knew, all she needed. But a time came where great strife befell the island. Through terrible mishaps, she soon found herself across the ocean as a refugee, alone. She was taken in by a wise elderly owl, but at age 12 she was heartbroken. For a while she spent so much time thrashing, screaming, and crying. That old owl being her caretaker was a true miracle; he stayed by her, was patient. And it all paid off when he had the song "Shalala Lala" playing, and Saru sat there star-struck, listening to it. Their hearts connected in that moment.

After seeing how much the old owl tried to help her, Saru's mindset changed. And she strived to learn from him. She didn't get a full grasp on the English language, only what she needed and wanted. That wasn't as important to her as everything else he taught her. She made his way of life her own, became the zen woman you see today. She wanted to spread this calm mindset to others, without being preachy. The old owl wasn't preachy, he taught her by getting on her level. A traditional teacher couldn't do that.. so she instead aspired to become a counselor. At age 18 she went through extensive education and got certification. Soon after, a place that needed her reached out. Trillium University. Of course, she accepted the job in earnest. And for 4 years the place has been her home and place of work. She's made an impact; Trillium isn't Trillium without her.
