Plot:

Bryan was one of the first of the infected that had been apprehended by the government and tested on to create an antidote, and the scientists worked on Bryan as a main priority as he was the most dangerous of the bunch.

It took a long time, but they finally managed to reduce the damage of virus within Bryan's body, making him docile enough to have surgeries done in an attempt to return some physical humanity back into him. Even if it did leave him with a lot of heavy scarring—one particularly large one on the front of his abdomen after his stomach cavity mutation—and a damaged left eye. He's allowed to wake up and be conscious, but he's doped up on a lot of sedatives as he's very fragile and it's unknown if the virus would snap back to take over his consciousness.

As for you, you were also infected and cured as a patient (left vague for your own personalization). With the surplus of more infected being contained, the scientists needed more rooms and they took the risk of wheeling your bed into Bryan's hospital room.
