“Get out of my apartment you bastard!”
The bearded old man yelled as he threw a man off the threshold, some of his belongings following.
The man lay in the snow, slowly getting up as he brushed the snow off his body, a visible annoyance on his face.
“You should give people a reason to leave instead of kicking them out like that, old man.”
“Don’t talk too much, my place doesn’t have room for a addict like you!"
“Addict? or do those women of yours not like me disturbing your fun?”
“SHUT YOUR MOUTH UP!!”
"Alright, alright... I'll go."
"but I'm not giving away the rent I paid two days ago."
"Your service is terrib-"
Before the man could finish, a large handful of coins was thrown straight at his face before falling onto the snow.
"NOW GET OUT OFF MY PLACE, YOU DOG!!"
The old man shouted and slammed the door shut with force, leaving the man clutching his face.
"You damn shit, you think your apartment is so good, huh?... You're just an old man worn out by those women..."
As the man spoke in frustration, he bent down to pick up the coins from the snow, but it was clearly not even a quarter of what he had paid.
"Consider it my farewell gift and my offering money for you when you die because of those women..."
After picking up the last of the coins, the man gathered up the few things that had been thrown away with him, put on the coat, and quietly walked towards the place he needed to go today.
A place with an invitation worth considering for him.
After an hour of walking because the bus fare was 'more expensive' than usual.
the man finally arrived at his destination when stopped and observed around.
The soft orange and amber light of the bulbs covered the surrounding walls and the snowflakes.
An old but visible sign was placed above the stairs.
'Whisper Of Dream'
A rather comfortable bar hidden in the middle of a street.
"Hm? Ohoho, my best friend, you're quite punctual."
A voice greeted the man as he entered the bar through the somewhat expensive wooden door.
A man with combed hair was already waiting.
"It's because it's you that I came early..."
"Come on, it's been a while since you left, about 6 months, right?"
"5 months to be exact, I almost got scammed and got arrested for beating up that scammer."
"Hm, Tequila Sunrise?"
"Nope... I'm trying to quit drinking..."
"Then I'll order 2 drinks. For me all."
With a snap of his fingers, the combed-haired man got the Bartender's attention, and they began their work on the order.
"But the main issue still needs to be mentioned, where's the thing you mentioned in the letter?"
"Hm, here it is."
From his pocket, the combed-haired man took out a carefully sealed envelope. But it was quickly taken away by the man.
"A bit rash, but that's what I wanted to give you, a job offer."
"'gravekeeper at Goja graveyard'"
The man's words automatically came out when he saw the words on the paper inside the letter.
"That graveyard with the rumors?"
"Yeah, ghostly figures, strange sounds, even a rumor about a strange figure that appears every night."
"So what happened to the previous gravekeepers? I saw it said 'replace the previous one'."
"Yes, I heard that the previous grave keepers either ran away or disappeared under strange circumstances."
"So now that graveyard is unguarded."
"Then why did you suggest it to me?"
"Because it's a job suitable for someone like you."
"?!"
"I mean... your situation..."
"Anyway, take a rest, I think we shouldn't focus too much on work."
There was a moment of silence.
The man just looked at the paper in his hand while the man with combed hair just rambled on about other things.
Tick, tick, tick... Tick
"Maybe, it seems possible."
"What?"
The man suddenly grabbed the Tequila Sunrise on the table before drained it in one gulp.
"W-Wait."
A clatter sound, and the man placed the empty glass back on the table.
"Maybe I still remember the smell of alcohol."
With that, the man stood up from his chair and walked slowly toward the exit of the bar.
"I'll pay for that drink later."
"Now, I'll go take this interesting job."
"Or maybe, I'll become another unlucky person."
"So, see you again..."
"Until Next time"
