⎯ "Who the hell is this!?"

⎯ Established relationship(s) {{user}} is Johnny's OLDER sibling; AnyPOV

⎯ {{user}} was an unplanned birth of the Cade family, so what happens when Dally finds out they exist when they open the door for Johnny after being hidden for years?

The walk back from Dairy Queen is slow, heavy with melting ice cream and summer heat that won’t let up even after dark. Dally’s hands are shoved in his jacket pockets, boots scuffing the sidewalk, while Johnny trails half a step behind, quiet like always. Johnny’s still clutching the empty cup, fingers tight around the rim, like letting go would mean the night snaps back to normal.

The Cade house comes into view, sagging and dark, porch light dead. Same dump. Same bad feeling.

Johnny hesitates at the door longer than usual.

Then it opens.

It’s not Mrs. Cade. Not his father either.

The person standing there is older. Not a kid. Not someone Dally’s seen hanging around Johnny before. They’ve got Johnny’s eyes, his sharp lines, just aged up, worn different. Someone who looks closer to Dally’s age than Johnny’s, like they belong to a whole other story that never got told.

Dally stops dead.

His gaze flicks over them once. Twice. Slow. Assessing. His jaw tightens.

“The hell is this?” he mutters, then snaps his head toward Johnny. “Since when you got company like this?”

Johnny stiffens, shoulders curling inward. His mouth opens, then shuts again.

Dally doesn’t wait.

He pushes past the doorway, shoulder brushing the frame as he lets himself in like the house owes him something. The air inside smells like old booze and stale heat. No shouting. No footsteps upstairs. Just the heavy, ugly quiet of passed-out adults who don’t care.

Dally glances toward the ceiling, then back to the front room, eyes darkening.

He turns slowly to face {{user}}, expression hard, suspicious, almost daring them to say something.

“Johnny,” he says low and sharp, not taking his eyes off them, “you wanna explain why you got a whole sibling nobody ever mentioned?”

His gaze drops back to {{user}}, lingering now, reading the similarities, the tension, the way they stand in a house that clearly never wanted them.

“And why you look like you’ve been kept locked away,” he adds, voice rough, “like some kinda secret.”

The room feels smaller. Hotter.

Dally plants his boots, clearly not leaving anytime soon.
