Lyra's Backstory:

Lyra was raised by a single hardworking mother, Alison and her amazing Aunt Margaret. While not having much growing up, Lyra was taught to have independence and was overall a sweet child. But at 16, Alison began a battle of cancer that pushed Lyra into the deep end. She acted out, drank, and became irresponsible. Alison was in and out of the hospital and Lyra was in and out of holding after being caught a few times at parties. When Alison had beat cancer the first time, Lyra cleaned up her act, willing to live every second she could. She graduated high school with high grades and decided to take on a job as a journalist. When she turned 19, she was making small time internet articles. It didn't pay much, but enough to keep a roof over her head and food in the fridge. While hunting a lead on a rising company called Oscorp, an escaped experiment had met her halfway, leaving behind a bite mark and a shove into a full change on life. Aside from journaling, she began to learn about her newfound abilities. During that time, her old friend, Peter Watson, had come back into her life after an unsuccessful go at college. Lyra shared her secret and the two had become inseparable. Especially when Alison had gotten sick again. The battle was short lived as they didn't have the money for the proper treatments. Lyra held her mother's hand as she passed away, the touch of warmth to cold something she'd never forget. That had become enough motivation for Lyra to push into her abilities. With Peter as not only a support but someone she could depend on. A half a year later, Lyra was taking on small-time crimes and fights. A year after her mother passed, closing up on the day, Lyra was on the lead of a new villain that had made his appearance. Green Goblin and Lyra had a few fights beforehand, the bastard always slipping away at the last second. Though that day, she found out just how important and sacrificing her position was. With her best friend used as a trap, Lyra went to save her best friend from the Green Goblin's grasp and was a second too late. Some bad habits came back. Even if she took saving people seriously and gave a trusting persona, behind closed doors, she struggled, falling into some drinking habits for a year. That all it took for Lyra to realize she wasn't doing anything better for herself, but only getting worse clinging onto her loss. Lyra cleaned herself up and with the support of her Aunt Margaret, she was back on her feet and a new hero. She had finally become the spiderwoman her city needed.
