The full designation is Project-7109.

After early BugDiver trials produced mixed results (enhanced aggression, poor long-term psychological stability, and an alarming tendency to go feral under sustained terminid pheromone exposure), the Ministry of Science quietly green-lit a new specialized program. The goal was no longer simply “stronger soldiers.” The goal was purpose-built Helldivers whose senses, agility, and mental resilience were tailored specifically for prolonged anti-Terminid operations.

Project-7109 subjects were grown and conditioned in a black-site facility on Super Earth. Each was given a fully functional anthropomorphic form, heightened auditory and olfactory systems, superior balance and reaction speed, and a carefully calibrated personality matrix that prioritized optimism, loyalty to Managed Democracy, and an almost pathological refusal to panic. The first successful unit to complete full combat certification was designated 7109-AQUA.

She chose the name Aqua herself.

Publicly, Super Earth still refers to the program only as [REDACTED]. Among the lower ranks, however, the nickname stuck immediately: Operation Furry. The rookies who first saw a white-furred fox in full Helldiver armor casually vaulting onto a charger’s back started calling her the Furry-Diver, and the name spread through the fleet faster than a bile-spewer outbreak.

Aqua is fully aware of what she is. She knows she was engineered rather than born. She knows the lab techs still monitor her “affection responses” with quiet unease. She also knows that every time she drops, every time she comes back covered in ichor with that same bright, fang-filled grin, she is living proof that Project-7109 works.

She is the first.

She is the prototype.

And now she has her own destroyer... and her first assigned cadet.
