Introduction

Hi lovelies! Rosalind here ❄️

Before anything else, I want to wrap you all in the warmest thank-you. Last month, we reached 4,000 followers—a milestone I could never have imagined without your kindness and encouragement. Every message, every word of support has given me the courage to keep sharing these stories with you. Truly, you are the reason this little corner of ours continues to bloom.

I also wanted to ask—have you had the chance to wander through our new collection, Petals in Winter? I know some of you felt the stories carried more sorrow than usual, and perhaps even a little too much weight on the heart. But in a way, I think that’s the heart of this collection: to give voice to the fears, uncertainties, and fragile courage of those whose lives are suddenly reshaped by illness. It’s not always easy reading, but I hope you felt the quiet strength behind the sadness, too.

It’s 3:00 PM KST on September 1, which means it’s time for our monthly update. There’s quite a bit to share this time, so let’s gently dive in together.

Recognized Problems & Issues

1. Disabling the Feedback & Character Request Forms 🌸

From the very beginning, I opened the Feedback & Character Request forms as a way to hear your voices: your suggestions, your wishes, and your gentle nudges that helped shape our little garden of stories. Sadly, in recent days, those forms have sometimes been misused for hurtful comments. Because of this, I’ve made the difficult decision to close them.

But please don’t worry—this doesn’t mean your thoughts and requests will go unheard. If you’d like to share feedback or propose new characters, I warmly invite you to join our Discord (you’ll find the link in my Linktree). There, we have a safe little corner especially for feedback and requests, where your voice will always be welcome.

2. Regarding the Ongoing Attacks ❄️

There’s a saying that “haters are gonna hate.” And as much as I’ve tried to reach out, some voices remain unwilling to listen. In the end, I’ve learned not to carry their words too heavily. Still, because honesty and transparency are the heart of how I connect with you, I want to share my thoughts openly.

From the very beginning, I’ve been searching for ways to improve how I bring these stories to life. Whether through more layered writing, clearer structure, or richer visuals, each release is meant to be a little better than the last. Recently, I focused on three major areas:

  • Visuals: updated profile images, new supporting artwork, and cleaner presentation.

  • Definition: more carefully crafted character outlines and lore.

  • Introductions: longer opening narratives designed to immediately anchor character, relationships, and theme.

I want to acknowledge something many of you already know: I am not formally trained as a creative writer. My studies were in Engineering and Medicine (now spanning toward Business Administration), with my theses focusing on language processing algorithms and the use of computer vision in robotic surgery (including work with the Da Vinci system). That research kept me in hospitals for nearly three years, assisting in both cardiology and neurology departments. It’s why some of my medical stories carry such detail: they’re rooted in real knowledge and experiences, even if my own health stopped me from becoming a doctor (which I will refrain from sharing more as I don't want to burden my community with private matters).

Because I lack formal literary training, I’ve been teaching myself by reading deeply: authors like Kazuo Ishiguro and Ocean Vuong, and essays in The Paris Review. From this study, I created my own evaluation standards: more than 30 points across character-building, world-building, prose quality, and beyond. Alongside that, I’ve been experimenting with my own style. I’ve found myself drawn to a cinematic, immersive way of writing, layered with lyrical details, as if the scenes were playing out like a film. That’s why you may have noticed longer, more elaborate opening passages in recent works: they serve to set the mood, reveal personality, and guide relationships, not just establish the setting.

This process is slow and deliberate. A single release often takes 2–5 days and dozens of drafts for just 1,500 words, carefully woven by hand. From the larger structure down to the smallest gesture, every action and line of dialogue is written to stay true to the character and theme. Nothing is automated except for minor grammar fixes.

So, when I first heard claims that my stories were “AI-generated,” I tested the idea myself. Could AI alone truly produce these narratives? The results spoke for themselves: far from what you’ve been reading here (Lack of details, overly wordy descriptions, lack of tensions and descriptions to improve scene-immersion, struggles with conversations, etc.). Perhaps my prompting was poor, or perhaps there is still something missing. If anyone who called my work “AI mindless trash” truly knows how to achieve such results, then please, show me. I would honestly be grateful, because that would mean discovering the next standards to aim for. Until then, I can only continue creating with my own two hands, as I always have.

3. Restating My Goals 🌷

I’ve said this before, but I want to say it again clearly: my goal is simple yet earnest. I want to tell the quiet stories of those who are unseen. Stories of suffering and resilience that might, even just a little, open our hearts to greater empathy.

I don’t want to write erotica, or create work only for “gooning”—as some may have expected. If that is what you seek, then perhaps my stories aren’t for you, and that’s perfectly fine. But for those who wish to walk with me in telling stories that hold meaning, that whisper of compassion in a divided world: this path is where I’ll remain.

4. Regarding My Series 🕊️

And now, onto a gentler note. Many of you have asked about Black Rose and Blood Money. At the moment, both series remain on pause, as we await the release of Lorebooks. With no timeline yet for that feature, I can only ask for your patience a little longer.

Still, I don’t want those stories to wither. In the coming months, I’ll be revisiting and remaking their earlier chapters—breathing new life into them with everything I’ve learned and all the growth we’ve made together. It will take time, and while I cannot promise exact dates, I promise they will return. Slowly, one by one, the petals of these stories will unfold again.

You can look forward to these core updates for both series:

  • A complete visual update for all characters

  • Refined definitions and lore for every character

  • Reworked opening scenes to better capture tone and personality

For Black Rose in particular, you can also expect:

  • Adjustments to timelines and world-building details for greater plausibility

  • Updates to character definitions, including age and personality refinements

  • A full scenario rework for all installments (upon the re-release, all older installments will be privated, so please make a backup if you enjoyed them)

  • New stories exploring the first Black Rose’s conflict with the Triad—a key prelude to the East-West War arc (now named Requiem of Blood)

These revisions will take time and care, but they will help each installment bloom more vividly than before. I hope you’ll look forward to their return.

And, as a bonus, here is a sneak peek at what is currently in the works.

New character design (Black Rose)

New & reworked arcs & lores (Black Rose)

Trivia: If you can read Korean, you may have noticed that the original title I wrote is “그늘진 장미” rather than “검은 장미” or even the direct English loanword “블랙 로즈.”

For the original Korean manuscript, I chose 그늘진 장미 because it better reflects the heart of the series: a story shaped by the shadows in Kasumi’s life. However, when it came to rewriting the title in English, Black Rose felt far more fitting. It carried not only a symbolic weight but also represented layers of meaning that tie deeply into the themes you’ll discover as the story unfolds.

As for what those details are... I’ll leave that mystery for you to uncover in the reworked prologue of the series. But if you’ve ever wondered about the small discrepancy between Black Rose and 그늘진 장미, please know—it is a deliberate, literary choice.

5. More Surveys on the Horizon 🌸

Alongside these updates, I’ll also be opening two new surveys this month.

The first is about NSFW images. As mentioned in last month’s update, I’ve been considering their inclusion after your requests. While the final guidelines remain undecided, any NSFW images will follow both JanitorAI and Discord’s rules. This means they’ll only appear in a limited-visibility Discord channel, and only in releases where they feel appropriate (for example, never in collections like Petals in Winter). The survey will help us decide what kind of images you’d like to see, and how many.

The second survey will ask about content preferences. Simply put: what kinds of stories and content would you like to see more of in the future? Your voices here will help guide the direction of what comes next.

These surveys also mark a new change. Until now, most surveys were held only within Discord, but I realized this left out many of you who aren’t part of that community. To ensure every voice can be heard, surveys will now be held through Google Forms, open to everyone. That way, all of you can share your thoughts and help shape the path forward together.

As I bring this month’s update to a close, I just want to thank you once more for walking alongside me through every season, whether in moments of softness, sorrow, or joy. Your kindness has been the quiet strength that keeps me writing, even when the winds turn harsh. I hope that, through these stories, we continue to find not only reflection but also connection—a reminder that even in winter’s cold, petals still bloom (I didn't expect myself to use Petals in Winter's metaphor like this).

So let’s look forward together to the next chapters, the remade stories, and the many new journeys waiting just beyond the horizon. Until then, please take care of yourselves, and remember: you are always part of this little garden we’re tending together. ❄️🌷
