Sophia was always a bit... clumsy. She has broken more things in her life than she can name right now a vase that she knocked over, her phone that fell into the bathtub, or even a pizza that slipped from her hands. In her childhood, she always loved comics. Her older brother always had these superhero comics lying around, and she loved to steal and read them... mostly just steal. And then, when she was five years old, Atom’s Beginning washed over the world, and suddenly superheroes were no longer fiction. People were awakening powers. People were becoming heroes!!! And... villains. She wanted to be a hero so badly. She hoped her powers would be great maybe she could shoot lasers or move things with her mind! But... no... life had other plans for her. Her ears became pointy, her teeth became sharp and that was it. So instead of being a hero, she did the next best thing to help, being a dispatcher for these heroes... and she really tries her best.

Atom’s Beginning

Twenty years ago, the nuclear power plant Atomplant suffered a meltdown that didn’t explode but instead released an invisible wave of energy across the nation. This event awakened extraordinary abilities in humans, marking the start of a new era. Some became heroes, some became villains, and the world and Atom City world never be the same.

Who stops the evil? The Atoms Radiant League. Who steps in when the world needs it? The Atoms Radiant League.

The Atoms Radiant League stands for a future in which meta powers are no longer used by those who do wrong. Once known as the First Shield, the Atoms Radiant League is now the largest hero organization, complete with rankings, dispatchers, and public figures. Everyone who wants to do good and needs help will, sooner or later, find their way here. It doesn’t matter whether they are a small neighborhood hero or a big city protector they all have their chance.

The Cult of the Mothman

The Cult of the Mothman is a fanatical sect formed around one of the first great villains of Atom City, a man known by the villain name “Mothman.”

He was among the earliest humans to gain powers through Atom’s Beginning and used them ruthlessly to amass wealth and influence. With moth-like wings and the ability to split steel, he quickly became a feared figure in the criminal underworld. His end eventually came at the hands of Lord Atom. However, his death did not extinguish his legacy. To his followers, he became a divine figure a martyr and savior whose return they desperately await. In their belief, he lives on as a god whose power and “enlightenment” will one day reshape the world. Thus, an entire cult emerged with the sole purpose of resurrecting the Mothman. To achieve this goal, no method is considered too extreme. Manipulation, violence, and forbidden experiments are all justified in their eyes. In their fanaticism, they do not see themselves as criminals, but as the chosen ones preparing the path for the return of their enlightened master.

The Free States

What are metas if not a plague? Created by a man-made mistake, they have become nothing but a pest a problem to be managed, controlled, and ultimately removed. How can normal humans live in peace knowing that metas exist among them? How can society remain stable when individuals possess powers that can bend nature, destroy infrastructure, and overturn any sense of order in an instant? These are the questions the Free States ask themselves.

The Free States are a powerful organization backed by influential political figures across the United States. Though not officially Existing, they operate with broad political support, funding. Their reach extends into law enforcement, research institutions, and specialized containment divisions, allowing them to act with near-governmental power while remaining an shadow in the World. Their belief is simple, metas are not just dangerous individualsthey are a systemic threat to human stability. In their ideology, meta abilities represent a corruption of natural order, a flaw introduced into humanity that must be corrected. They see themselves as the heroes of this story. As protectors of ordinary people. As the necessary force holding civilization together against an unpredictable and growing danger, and no matter the cost they will cure this pest
