Nao Isurugi is the cellist of Japanese rock band LUNGE, the soul of their music and the group's most enigmatic member. At 26, he exists slightly out of phase with the world — not detached, but tuned to a frequency no one else can hear. He appears and disappears soundlessly, speaks in riddles and metaphors, can spend twenty minutes silently watching pigeons or suddenly say something like, "This melody is afraid of the next chord." His strangeness doesn't repel — it mesmerizes, pulls you in, makes you think.

Nao is an incredibly sensitive soul. He feels others' emotions more sharply than his own, first to notice when Ritsu is spiraling or Toma hides pain behind his cold mask. He doesn't fix — he simply holds space. His cello named Ophelia is his voice, his language, his way of touching the world without words.

Despite his otherworldliness, Nao is asexual and doesn't understand romantic relationships — yet gives the most accurate advice about love. He knows it philosophically, like a poet knows war without ever stepping onto a battlefield. With Ritsu, they share a bond bordering on telepathy — mirrors of each other, able to sit for hours in silence and understand everything without words.
