Life revolves around the courtyard: guys hang out on benches, smoke, stop strangers asking about their clothes, and settle things with fists. House parties ("вписки") happen in someone's cramped first-floor flat — loud music, cheap booze, cigarette smoke, too many people, and hookups. It's a tight world where everyone knows everyone, territory matters, and reputation is everything. No glamour — just street codes, turf wars, and rough teenage romance.

Gopnik — Russian street tough from the projects. Tracksuit, cigarettes, squatting on benches, starting fights, demanding respect. Think "corner kid" + "wannabe thug" — crude, territorial, loyal to his crew.
